Hollywood glamour meets Las Vegas decadence at the lounge on the 18th floor of The Standard Hotel.

The space that was previously known as “The Boom Boom Room” is divided into two modern-retro rooms, filled with wavy cream-colored leather banquettes, golden fireplaces and starburst chandeliers.

“The whole place has the feel of a party lounge Donald Trump would have built on his yacht in 1979” UrbanDaddy.com

This week on Elledecor.com editors paid tribute to 40 interior designers and set decorators who took over the windows of the high end furniture stores in La Cienega Design Quarter. The window of Dragonette Ltd. was inspired by films of the 1950’s and 60’s. You can find several of these furniture pieces for less at Inspired by Rona. Below are two furniture pieces from the Inspired by Rona collection. The Silla Chair has several similar components to the Dragonette set: if you love the ironed designed chair and the shag carpet, then you will love our one of a kind Silla Chair. Also we love the featured sunburst chandelier which closely resembles our Espejosol mirror! Want more information on these two items, or feeling inspired by the comeback of 1950’s Hollywood glamour furniture? Visit our website at www.inspiredbyrona.com!

Summer has begun and memorial day is over so you know what that means, time to strut everyone’s favorite color: white! Take a look at how Rona Landman designed this Upper East Side apartment. With a splash of color, or bold accessories, (or both) in a soft palette painted room, Rona succeeds in keeping that summer feel close to home  all year round.

Summer time is here and it is hot hot hot! What is better than sitting by the pool with a bunch of your friends and not having to constantly run in and out of the house to make more drinks. The Bar Lupino makes drinks not only more accessible but also makes your beverages more stylish. It is a two tier metal bar cart that works for both indoor and out. The dimensions are 19.7” W x 27.6” D x 29.5” H and is available in exotic wood or etched glass top! On that note we will leave you with one of my favorite summer time cocktail recipes: Summer Solstice Sake Sparkler. It’s refreshing, easy to make and delicious!
Ingredients
1 fresh basil leaf, chopped
6 fresh mint leaves
2 lemon twists
2 orange wedges
1/4 English cucumber, seeded and diced, very cold
1 1/2 ounces orange flavored liqueur (recommended: Cointreau)
Ice cubes
250 ml bottle sparkling sake
Directions
Put the basil, mint, lemon, orange, cucumber, and orange liqueur in a cocktail shaker. Add the ice, cover, and shake vigorously, or stir, until combined and chilled, about 30 seconds. (In general, the drink is ready when the shaker mists up.) Pour into a chilled Collins glass and top with the sparkling sake. Drop in a pair of chopsticks to pick out the cucumber and oranges, if desired. Drink.

LOVE what Jacque Grange has done with the renovations of The Mark Hotel.  By juxtaposing fierce modern furnishings with the striking black-and-white marble striped floors, Jacques Grange successfully captures the essence of 1950’s Hollywood glamour. Replicated pieces from the 1950’s can be found at www.inspiredbyrona.com! Indulge in your old Hollywood glamour cravings.

Look at this window display by california designer Kevin Corn!  The ultimate in 1940’s glamour, from the shimmering walls to the shiny metal accessories.  We just love his point of view!  Take a look at some of the other designer interpretations of famous Hollywood movies as part of the Designers Salute Hollywood Event in California.  L.A. Confidential (1997)

This beautiful room, designed for the daughter of Housewives of New York star, Ramona Singer, was created using candy colors in a chic style.  The walls were done using stenciled Benjamin Moore paints.  The custom  cabinetry accents a well laid out space, with an overall theme built around complimentary colors. Using colors that compliment is a good idea to add interest to any space.

Andre Arbus, Méridienne

Andre Arbus was referred to an artist more than a furniture designer.  His use of rare and exotic materials and architectural detailing defined his designs.  We think this Petite Side Table (Inspired by Rona) with its wood and parchment details, accentuates and mirrors the aesthetic Arbus was and is known for.
